Sources for speaker stuffing materials, please.

I'm planning a new speaker project.
The designer (Gravesen) specifies:
1. 10-12 mm felt material. Alternatively use 10 mm polyester foam.
2. MDM3 (Monacor) mix of 2/3 sheeps' wool and 1/3 polyester fibres. Alternatively use Acoustilux.

Since I'm not interested in paying to have this stuff shipped from Europe, can anybody suggest North American sources for these (or reasonable substitute) ?
The closer to BC, Canada, the better!😉

Thanks
John

Try the local "fabric shop"......you know, the ones with the kilometers of fabric on rolls...& rolls & rolls. They have cotton batting which I have found to be ideal for enclosure stuffing. Chances are they will have a suitable fabric for grilles also.......in so very many styles & colors...........just look for a suitable light weave........an almost "sheer" fabric.

Or get the catalog from Parts Express, they are in Ohio, which is more or less the USA.

Parts Express specializes in speaker stuff.

Grille cloth, cabinet corners and handles, crossovers and crossover parts, speaker wire connector cups, etc etc.

SOmeplace fancier like Madisound might have something too.

If I wanted wool, I'm lazy enough to get the washed and carded stuff which you can buy (according to my knitter spouse) at some needlecraft supply places. (Or pay a local weaver for some....)

On the 'it smells' topic - I've noticed that some 'vintage' speakers can smell pretty musty - probably a combo of old tobacco odours + later storage in a damp-ish basement or garage... Good excuse for putting in new damping material.
