Helo all.
Sorry in advance for my bad English.
I come from the Netherlands. 🙂
I would like to know how different the 405s is from the 405.
I have a 405s for repair with the schematic of a 405 next to to it.
for example on the schematic of the 405 D103 to D106 are all the same FED16BT
.
But on the pcb of the 405S D103 and D104 are FEP16CT and D105 and D106 are FEN16CT??
Is there any part list for the pcb of the 405S pcb or a clear drawing of the schematic??
Thank you in advance for thinking along with me!!
Bart.

Hello Perry,
It is not really clear to me what type d7 and d8 are.
I asume d7 FEP16DT AND d8 FEN16DT.
Thank you again in advance!

Are they missing in your amp?
The FEN and FEP (P meaning positive) prefix is now obsolete but there are alternatives,

Hello,
They are not missing.
But on d103 to dd106 are all ct versions mounted.
d107 and d108 are dt versions mounted.
I just want to be sure I put them back the right way.
The schematic shows all versions are dt versions.
Is it possible there are different itterations?
Bart.

The DT is a higher voltage and is on the higher voltage 'sub' rail.
You stated that you had the 405S. The designations for the rectifiers don't have the 10 prefix.

Actualy i was not right about d107 and d108.
The schematic shows these are presumably FEN an FEP version
Summary of what was touted on my amplifier:
D103, D104 FEP16CT 9620
D105, D106 FEN16CT 9616
D107 FEN16DT 9616
D108 FEP16DT 1943

I'm not sure what I'm missing.
Old style FEN is negative
Old style FEP is positive
16 means 16 amps
CT mean 150v
DT means 200v
The numbers after the CT/DT are date codes year and week
I don't know what 1943 is unless it's a very new rectifier.

Yes you are right.
But that does not show up on the schematic.
Do i have to put back the types that came of the pcb or do I have to put back the types showing on the schematic.
Because on the schematic it does not show dt or ct, for d107 and d108.
FEN16 transistors only go up to dt.
Not higher.
I have to order some new ones because some of them are defective.
And I do wanna order the right ones.
Either the ones like they came off the pcb or all new ones according to the schematic.
But the schematic does not show what type d107 and d108 are, not ct or dt.
So i presumed they should be dt versions if it matters the values may not be lower than the other ones.
Just wanna be on the safe side.
Bart.

For the center-tapped rectifiers in these amps, I used the MUR1620CT and MUR1620CTR (R=reversed polairty, negative).
I don't see the need to have two different rectifiers. They could have used the DT in all locations.
How many CTs were in the amp? How many DTs?
There were two parallel groups that were the same part in each group (4 total pieces). The other two go in the sub power supply.
