Another gem. Live concert. Impressive sound. Smooth, esp violins, nice vocals. Great stage presence, very intimate.
Cohen sort of reached a plateau with me. I The few Cohen songs I like of his are grand slams in between a lot of mediocrity. Everybody's a critic I know I know. I'm ready for another Cohen gem in hiding, have not heard that but I'm about to.
Went through lots of Vangelis records, this one, soil festivities, has nice chimes, bells and synthesizers, all electronic, offcourse, but fun.
Neat blog. Some of my favorite sounding speakers have older vifa mid basses. One brand were quite used to here used to use them almost exclusively in there totl speakers. Smooth detail is my cup of tea, they offer up plenty of that. Very interesting to see how good there working in the sealed MTM arrangements.
Santana, abraxas
Lots of stereo effects, drums going left, right...pretty impressive.
Its nice and airy ( I would make a terrible reviewer lol), the bells on track one have a cool sound stage effect. The whole CD entirely.
Unlike abraxas I only like about 1/3 of supernatural. But it sounds good.
Billy Bragg has more than a few recordings to mention.
Talking with the tax man about poetry. Quite the poetic title.
Levi Stubbs' Tears. I can see a couple parts being shrill on some systems. when not that twangy guitar effect sounds very cool. And late in the trumpet I think it is, is set well back in the sound stage. It almost sounds like an electronic keyboard until a few notes. He does particularly nice job on vocals in this one. That track and "New England" get two ears up
You reminded me of Jesse Cooke. Cascada. He plays the halls in Toronto often. Speaking of which will be here again this May. A rescheduled concert layed it over. Holder's can't complain about that one now I bet.

I use Qobuz, since Tidal forces MQA on me and I don’t have hardware to unwrap it properly.Wilco, there's that name again. With Billy Bragg who I did know of, but only by one song A new England.
More than a couple sound well done
Does it go without saying music on youtube should be taken with a grain of salt? Its meant as more of a taste test sampler than anything when I link them.
Where are you guys and girls streaming music these days?
Roon core/control from Mac, directly into router, then wirelessly into roon bridge configed Raspberry Pi modded with linear PSU directly into Digi2 Pro board. Then BNC to dac. As good as the best digital front ends I have had, and cheap too (the RPi).
PS: the tiger or puma or whatever in the ballad of bill hubbard sounds like it is attacking me from 5 o’ clock. Jumping in the chair. Pretty cool, if not the epiphany of relaxation

Andy
Tom Morello The Night Watchman Witch Side Are You On. His version of 16 tons absolutely KICKS ***! I'm on my 4th or 5th listen. Its getting late for a work night I might not get through it all this take. That piano my gawd, then the picking..amazing. The bass beautifully full and clean, good job with vocals. Everything sounds great. With a nice and clear stage to boot.

I have not been set up for MQA. You can get in to them relatively inexpensively now. My set up is pretty basic, high end PC laptop to DAC to amplifiers. I didn't jump through too many to find some I can settle on. Old Tech suits fine. How fine can resolution get and how fine do we really need it? I welcome as much as they can deliver.
I'll still like these odd looking discus shaped things..
Rumour's has always been a strong runner, right from front to back.

Slow Doomsday in Dearland studio recordings by Elvis Perkins. Nice picking, nice all around LP. He makes a kick bass sound like a kick bass naturally. That seems difficult. It almost sounds like bass isn't there until it gets louder. Everything blends so well. Big points for EP's recordings. https://pitchfork.com/reviews/albums/13609-doomsday-ep/
Guys, I have a related question to you. How do you call the process of modifying the sound to your own liking?
I came across the term 'sounding' but that doesn't sound (pun intended) right.

^^In Finnish it's 'hifistellä' which would translate to hifiying or something, also not right sounding 😀
Voicing the system to ones liking? Risking of course colliding with the same term used in speaker voicing.
Tweaking or Voicing might be OK. I had an article submitted where the term 'sounding' was used.
Didn't think anything of it until I Googled it:

Who would have thunk.

Sounding sounds weird.
Voicing or tweaking is way better.
Let me add one more option, 'modding', informal for modifying.

Well I wasn't going to mention the alternative meaning when I saw your post...Didn't think anything of it until I Googled it:
Shame as people keep asking 'how does it sound' when discussing tweaks so it could be a shoe in. Seasoning could be a good word, but we'd never agree on that.
