I read about this years ago, but never gave it much thought until the other day... when my old scope died.

the circuit is extremely simple and could be built for free (or under a buck or two)...
Just curious if anyone has tried it? I plan on maybe throwing one together tonight and seeing what happens. Hmmmm....

Hi elementx,
I would do some work towards input protection for the op amp. Also, some range switching wouldn't hurt either.

Hi elementx,
It would have been cheaper to go to Radio Shack and buy a pair if you are paying for shipping. TL072 is improved for noise.
I can't believe they will sample such a "mature" 😉 part!

i couldn't find tlo72 anywhere but on ebay... you think its worth paying for or should i just try the tl082 for now?

I believe I have some TL072 that I bought for no real purpose. I can send you a pair if you would like. Just drop me an e-mail with your addy.
Hi elementx,
Since you already have the TL082 on the way, use 'em. In your travels or orders, try to pick up the odd common parts. That way you will not have to wait for something to arrive. Mouser. Digikey and Newark are all excellent firms that will mailorder (web order).
