I am having a problem with my Soundaware D100 Pro network player, have scoured the internet to no avail, so am hoping someone here can help please?
It is an excellent player, have had it for just over 2 years, but it has sometimes been a bit finicky after being left switched off. I recently went away and switched it off, when I came back, it started playing tracks at a fast speed, I reckon around x3, but no music through the DAC. I rebooted a couple of times to no avail, tried a firmware update, even though I was on a recent version, still no good.
In desperation, I did a forced reset, this worked, but I cannot now update the firmware and I cannot read music through the SD card, only NAS files. As the firmware has to be loaded via an SD card, it would appear that perhaps it is not able to read the card?
Any ideas or similar experiences would be appreciated.

Hi Canvas,
I did find this forum, but my total lack of knowledge of Chinese prevents me from even navigating it, never mind understanding it.
many thanks for taking the time to respond, as you say there is little to find about D100 on this forum and not much more on the web.
Hopefully someone will come up with something, but at least it is working and as I said, it is very good.

Hi druidaudio,
At the bottom of the link, there is an email. Maybe you can contact them directly.

Again, many thanks to you, but I have already emailed to that address, but have not yet received a reply. I shall try again!

Where did you get it? Can't you find your seller?
They are Chinese. They may have problem reading your mail. I can ask them for you if you like.

Hi Poting,
That would be very kind of you, please do.
Just copy and paste my original post if you could?

What's your current firmware (and before)? I left a message on the forum, but I think it would be better to know the exact firmware version.
Current firmware is 1.8.3 but I cannot remember what version I was up to, perhaps 2.5.6 ?
Thank you for posting for me.

Hi Poting, did you ever get any response from the forum?
Hi druidaudio,
I go back to the forum and found they finally replied. They said you should send back the device if the SD card reader doesn't function properly. They ask you to contact your local reseller and he should be able to send back for you. I will ask them if you can send it back directly.

Thank you very much for all your efforts, much appreciated.
I shall try my local reseller (who is in the Netherlands) again, but when I previously asked, they were not interested as I had not bought it from them originally. I shall persist though!
I originally bought it through a Chinese seller on ebay,. but he is no longer trading, but I will try contacting him.
If you remember, I have tried contacting Soundaware directly twice with no response, so if the forum can come up with any alternative that would be great.

Their response is kind of slow. I will keep an eye on it.
Hi Poting,
Just to let you know that I have managed to repair the player!
I analysed the ripple on the supply rails and one had an excessive amount, so changing all the main smoothing capacitors cured that.
Once I rebooted, it would read the SD card again and I was able to update the firmware to the latest version.
So far, I have had no further problems and the player is performing really well. It is a superb player for NAS and SD music files.
Again, my thanks to you for your efforts to help, perhaps if someone else has the same problem my story might help them?
