I am building a tube amp and considering using the Dueland CAST caps for output coupling. I know these are very expensive. I have read some posts about these caps. But has anyone compared the sound of these two caps in the same amplifier?
I have heard silver components (interconnects and speaker cables and other caps like Mundorfs). Silver always seems to "thin" the sound compared to copper. For example, I compared silver speaker wires to copper wires. Each time, I heard more "full" sound with copper. This was most evident on saxophone and female vocals. Copper had more body, texture, and warmth which I prefer. The silver did give better detail in the highs and better imaging and soundstaging. However, my preference is the copper sound.
Is the sound of the silver and copper Duelund CAST caps similar to my experience with wires? Can anyone give detailed analysis of the sound of these two caps?
