Sony TTS 8000 (All in Discussion)

Just to bump this thread, I have not used my turntable in a long while whilst I pursue other interests.
I have sold my Technics sp10 and other Sony TTS-8000 and I'm left with my upgraded one. The plinth I made myself, panzerholz.veneered in cocobolo. The bearings I made in torlon along with a torlon thrust pad. My upgraded Audio Technica AT-1010 tonearm is long gone and replaced with a Mission Mechanic, I had to make a new offset mounting collar for it to get it to fit. The sound is a step up from the SP10 and stock TTS-8000. Happy days, and enjoying vinyl again!

Something completely different beside all the mechanical modifications:

Is anyone familiar with the motor control? I've two samples at hand and recognize a much lower torque on one of the samples. Start up time is longer and the platter si more easily stopped by hand.
First I thought of worn out electrolytic caps. But all are measuring fine in terms oc capacitance and series resitance. Measured on my DER EE DE-5000. As this LCR Meter is not capable measuring >2mF, a multimeter was used for C18 (2200µF/35V). Nevertheless I changed C18, C14, just to be sure. No change, this sample is still lacking torque.

Finally I installed the PCB from the sample with proper torque on the one with to low torque. Which solved the issue. So the "failure" must be with the motor control.

Any ideas on this?
