What's the problem with it?, the PSU is a conventional CT transformer and bridge rectifier, although there is a second single winding, with a bridge as well (made from seperate diodes).

Presumably it's advertised as having a PSU problem?, but is the seller informed enough to know? - I would have thought it's more likely a power amplifier fault?.
However, Sony's do have unreliability problems with mains transformers, because they tend to buy cheap chinese ones which are often too small for the job. As it has two windings you would probably need two transformers to replace it, or buy the correct one as a spare - but they are STUPIDLY expensive from Sony (this assumes the transformer is faulty of course!).

maybe the seller pointed the wrong direction.
By the way, i'm gonna replace the power stage (2*stk modules) by 2 hexfet power stage rated at 100WRMS/4 ohms.
The main transformer will be replaced by a toroid one.
