Well I have got this receiver from my neighbour. He is 85 and uses a bose solo system now.

The only thing is.. He gave it to me and he thought it was fully working.

But now I hooked it up there seems to be a strange problem:

The right channel lacks bass for 100 procent (it seems that every low and low middle tone doesn't come trough).

This is what I tried:
-resetting the receiver to factory settings
-try different cables
-try different speakers
-try headphones
-try different settings

So it must be something technicall. This is really the most modern amp I have ever had so I don't know were to start. And I don't like to say: sorry but it is broken, or put it in the basement...

Edit:

Also tried hooking an other receiver onto the pre-outs of the sony. Then left and right sound also different..

But that doesn't explain the difference between left and right channel. If what you said was true, both channels must have the problem.

Also resetting all settings didn't help. Maybe a malfunction of an IC that sets the EQ? (don't know very much and certainly not from modern stuff)

well, I will take a look at the manual, but I don't think I will fully understand it.

I discoverd something new:

If I change the balance, It won't turn the other channel fully off. So maybe it isn't a lack off bass I hear, but one channel is louder as the other. Also the amp has a board that runs very hot (not the main amp section..)
