Sony SDM-S53/B

I have dismantled most of the way into my Sony SDM-S53. I plan on building a more elaborate projector with it later, which is why I'm only part way into it. It has all the connectors to the lcd on one end, no ribbon cable between the main board and an edge board. I think it is quite suitable. I hope it works; it is my seventh panel to try. So far, I have burned up or destroyed three, and am using one, a 15" panel from a titanium powerbook.
I've destroyed a 17" apple studio display, by removing the polarizer, a 14" ctx panel that i broke the connector for the stupid ribbon cable on, a 15" tibook panel that I tore one of the ribbon cables to the lcd on, a 17" Samsung Syncmaster (iirc) that was ideal, which i melted the ribbon cables on due to a shifted shield, and a 15" tibook that the same thing happened to.
Right now, I am using the 15" tibook I just bought, which is working well, mounted to the face of a Dukane 680 turned on edge with the objective relocated to the end of the rather large case it's in. Before I mess with the Sony panel, I need to fix my objective lens situation, having a choice between 327mm or so from the dukane head or 600mm from my only other lens. I need 400-500mm, so will just have to buy the lumenlab one. Then, I have to sort out my 1000w bulb and get it aimed properly through appropriate heat reduction. Then I will mess with the 15" Sony.
