sony scd xb940 can't read cdR

Hi , i like to mod my sony scd xb 940 to play cdR and RW . Any idea ? do u think is the decoder chip or the drive to be mod or replace ? thank !

Same problem

I have the same problem with my Sony SCD XB940. I have tweaket the player with BB opa 2604, Wima capacitors, coppr shield over the cd drive, bitumen everywhere and so on. THe only drawback on this player now is that it doesnt read CDR. If I cant solve this problem my SCD XB 940 will be for sale.

Any ideas ????😕
