thanks Guys
Blackie😕

I didnt have to remove my jacks at all.

The connections were actually exposed on the outside of the inputs.

I just soldered directly onto there.

The pictures are really crummy, but you can see that the jacks are still in place.

all of the psx screens i've just about ever seen have a composite/rca video input....am i just imagining this?...it seems like you would just jack right into this and run with it....am i missing something here?

:xeye:

The only thing your missing is that it's a mini jack, doesnt take standard rca.

You either need to rig up a standard RCA in, or have a mini jack converter.

Some more questions

I read most of the ' playstation lcd screen' topics (i think) and i still have some questions regarding the original Sony PSX lcd screen. I'm new to the whole DIY projector thing so please don't burn me down 🙂

First of all i would like to know if it works standalone or needs the psone to run. I read that it takes 5volt from the psx-connector, so doesnt that means that the screen cant run alone without modification?

(and if it works stand alone with using just a adaptor, do i have to use a adaptor primairy made for use with psx or can i use any adaptor with the right voltage and ampere?)

Next question is that i read different things about the av-input. I hear its RGB-only, but some say it takes composite aswell. So can anybody give me a final answer to this ? 🙂

Thanks

The screen does not require a playstation to work.

Mine came from the junk pile with an external power supply.

SONY scph-121, 7.5v-3.0 a

If you don't have the original, any power supply with the same volatage could be rigged to work. RadioShack could probably hook you right up.

Hey there.

I had the same issue. No power supply. What I did was pull one from a junk playstation (Grey one) and mod it into a box. I also connected RCS jacks to the Mini AV input so it would be easier to connect a multitude of game systems to it.
This is my first post, so please be gentle. :whazzat:

I meant RCA (Not RCS) jacks in the previous post. I also attached a picture before, but I think it might have been too big. I have reattached it.
