Sony CDP-502es cd player, no rca audio output

Guys i have a sony cdp-502 es cd, it reads and tracks my cd's well, the problem is that there is no audio output at the rca jacks.

Has anyone experienced this? Any pointers on where to start looking?

The output muting may be triggered, check before the relay.

1 Check power regulators, 7805, 7815, 7915, etc...
2 Follow the signal with an oscilloscope.
3 Check mute relay.

What happens when you wiggle the RCA connectors a bit at the back?

i will try checking the power regulators and muting relay

wiggling the rca's does nothing

just to update this thread, the dac chip was faulty, had to replace it

Any idea what caused it? That's a bit of an unusual fault?
Static electricity? Mods gone wrong?
