I found this article fascinating.
What Cracking Open a Sonos One Tells Us About the Sonos IPO
Maybe not for everyone because the focus is on the 'smart' part of the loudspeaker but interesting to see the inside parts and how these two speakers are made.
Personally, even tho the author feels the Amazon Echo is superior (he explains his point of view clearly) I'd never buy it based on the images shown.

Why?
Hi Patrick!
The pictures show cheap looking drivers. In fact, the author refers to the woofer as a midrange in the article when referring to the Echo. As a speaker to listen to music thru, I'd prefer the components I see used in the Sonos. The 'smart' part doesn't interest me as much as the music reproduction. But what I found fascinating is how Sonos is beholden to Amazon and how the author declares Sonos a loser for various business reasons.

Ah, ok.
The way that Amazon is running the tweeter omnidirectionally will be problematic I think. I have a set of Sony speakers that do this, and it really seems to roll off the highs quite a bit. There's no "sparkle."
