Greetings all, new but have learned a lot through reading. I have aquired a pair of sonics. Mine are the 600x or the 5b's guts. Next to nothing for info on the net, nada. I would like to use these in a monoblock set up, one per left and right fronts. The xlr LF output and the xlr crossover input have me pulling what little hair i have left out. Kinda new to this and totally new to xlr. These amps were gifted to me by a very close freind and would love to fire them up but am lost on how.
Any info from anbody woud be greatly appreciated.

From what I could find on the web, the 600x is basically three 3B amps, and an active cross-over. The cross-over is a three way design, sending the Highs to one of the 3B amps, the Mids two the other two 3B's (in a bridged configuration), and the lows to the LF output. So the HF gets 100 watts, the Mids get 400 watts, and the lows are sent to another amp.... You're going to have to do some re-wiring internally, to bypass the active cross-over....
To clarify a bit, when I say 3B amp, I mean one channel of a 3B. Bryston built three and four channel amps, using a 3B channel as the starting point. For example, the 5B was a three 3B channels in one chassis, the 8B had four....
Thanks for the info.
Yes i kinda was picking up what you were laying down.
Seeing that these amps are a 5b inside, i think i am going to take them into a shop to see if they can delete the xlr for rca in and out. Also see if its at all possiable to convert to a full mono. Thoughts anyone??

I don't think a full mono conversion would be possible, but you can ask... I did see some other posts from people who had removed the active cross-over portion, and connected directly to the amps inputs, so that should definitely be possible! Good luck, Dave
