Sonic Impact T amp remove/bypass the volume control/pot

I've just got hold of a Sonic Impact T amp and would like to know the best way to bypass/remove the volume control/pot completely. I want to control the volume by using my stepped potentiometer passive pre amp.
Basically, modify the T amp to be used as power amp.
Do I just remove the T amp 50k pot and replace it with some 50k resistors?
I don't want to start doing all the recommended input cap mods & etc yet as I want to live with original T amp sound first without it's volume control.
I know the easiest way is just to turn the T amp volume to max but and I want to achieve the cleanest, purest sound when using my passive pre amp.

Thanks for the diagram on how to modify t- amp into a power amp. After listening to my new SI t-amp using a 12 volt 5 amp switch mode mains power supply for over a week, I prefer it over my £1000 Unison Research Simply 2 single ended tube integrated amp! This £30 plastic toy amp is outstanding value for money.
