Sonic impact t-amp cutting out after mods

I've been reboxing the sonic impact t-amp, as per David Holgate's article - new volume pot, power switch, speaker posts.

I had it working in one case but since I moved it I've had problems.

Above a certain volume the sounds keeps cuttting out, as if it it can't handle the current or something.

Can anyone tell me whether this is likely to be because I've fried the chip, or is it something else?

Any help would be much appreciated.

It's probably caused by irregular impedance of the speakers you're using. I'm experiencing the same problems with my 3-way DIY speaker, but when I attached it to a commercially made speaker, no such problems arose.
