sonic difference between Tripath TA2020 and TA2021?
I have always thought that the TA2021 is the SMD version of TA2020, but now have doubts after a closer look at the spec sheet. Is there obvious sonic difference between the two?

In the thread title you mention TA2024. I have a TA2024 running and TA2020 chips awaiting implementation in a board when I have time. I read about a guy who had a TA2024 amplifier and got a TA2020 amplifier following. He claimed it was a clear sonic improvement with the TA2020.
The TA2021 could look to me like a TA2024 with a cooling pad on top.

Thanks, the 2024 was my typo, should be a 2021 (that is the chip in my 41hz amp3). All three have very very similar specs, the main difference being the Signal Noise Ratio, though from the measurement conditions.
I just noticed a 2020 chip I bought years ago from 41hz (only bought the chip, I thought the circuit was simple enough to not have to bother with a PCB). If the 2020 sounds better than 2021, I might just build the amp.
