Bas Horneman said:Babe, baby, baby, I'm Gonna Leave You.
I said baby, you know I'm gonna leave you.
I'll leave you when the summertime,
Leave you when the summer comes a-rollin'
Leave you when the summer comes along.
actually quite like that song.😀
Oh dear, I'm afraid I'm going to get sinbinned for threatening to hit another participant with a pie.
Back a long, long time ago--back in the 1960's, as best I can recall. a frat house at a large University (Texas A&M comes to mind, but it's been just too long to be sure), created a fund raiser with the sort of music mentioned here.
For a small admission price ($.50-1.00) thousands of bug-eyed college folks watched the "fitting demise" of a couple hundred of the worst 45s of the decade. An old jukebox was filled with the offending music, hoisted by a crane something like 150 feet into into the air, directly above a concrete pad, then cut loose for the gratification of the joyful crowd.
One tune that comes to mind, that was in the mix, was entitled "Billy Don't be a Hero". I think "Leader of the Pack" was another. I suspect most forum readers may be too young to remember either of these gems.

Aargh! That one was awful! It also made me think of another really horrible song, "My Boyfriend's Back". That song is so terrible on so many levels I don't know where to begin.
One that I should have listed in my opening post – that “What about me” song.
Aurrgghh......Infantile whining at its most nauseating.
Then there is Guy Sebastian..................

Opera - great music ruined by mindless screeching and wailing over the top. Why don't they just shut up!
Oh, and James Blunt. 😉

Get rid of your digital front end and solid state gear and it wouldn't sound so screechy.😀
I've been known to like a little bit of rap and hip hop, although probably not what you're thinking, so I'll leave that debate alone.
Brian Adams - Summer of 69. Put a drunk yob in charge of a pub jukebox with a very sick me trying to sleep upstairs: Summer of 69 six times. Brown Eyed Girl four times. The Wind Cries Mary three times.
I was not happy, particularly as I love Hendrix. But I now cannot hear Summer of 69 without wanting to punch someone.

1969 was actually a very, very good year for music! The charts were filled with a wide variety of great music of many types. Noteable exceptions however, included: "Jam Up & Jelly Tight" by Tommy Roe. "In the Year 2525" by Zager and Evans (a medley of all their biggest hits!), and "I'm Livin in Shame" by Dianna Ross & the Supremes (easily their worst offering ever!--A tribute to her relationship with Berry Gordy?)
okay, where do i start....
Bon Jovi (gets a special mention all to himself)
James Blunt (of course)
Kid Rock (oh god)
Uncle Cracker
Fall Out Boy
My Chemical Romance
Gym Class Heroes
and the rest of the no talent idiots who manage to get recording contracts these days
ALL rap
Britney Spears
Mariah Carey
Cher (i thought she was a man for years)
etc etc
thats my two cents.

In the right environment, I can enjoy just about any type of music. Lil Jon, Vengaboyz, Marilyn Manson, Celine Dion, Cake, .... the list goes on. However, I cannot stand anything from the Smashing Pumpkins. I hate it all. Hate hate hate.
I can even stand most of everything on the billboard hot 100, except Beyonce - Irreplaceable really gets on my nerves. She managed to rhyme "minute" with ... wait for it ... "minute"! Genius.

Oh! and that new Ozzy tune! Propping up a decrepit old man against a mic stand and processing the **** out of his caterwauling to squeeze another couple bucks out of the name seems to have spawned another hit. Let's dig up Elvis!!!
Another year passes...
Kleinschmidt: "Ironic - Alanis Morissette ("Isn't it Irr....."....Urgghh, NO!.....buy a dictionary dummy......)"
You were so close to getting the point! The song is ironic.
It's ironic because there is no ______ in it.
She doesn't need a dictionary.

Well that's just plain silly.

The great question that has never been answered, and which I have not yet been able to answer, despite my thirty years of research into the feminine soul, is "What does a woman want?"
The lament of the rejected. 😀
You know, of the great misogynists, Schopenhauer was too ugly and grumpy. Nietzsche scared all the women away with his ridiculous moustache and Freud really was too preoccupied in his thoughts with bowel movements and the male appendage to be any kind of authority on the opposite sex.
Cheers,

Hmmmm.... music died after the 90's..... been very few good songs since then and I never have liked most of the garbage that passes for music these days. I especialy HATE HATE HATE HATE Averil Lavine with a bloody white hot passion... but I hate Frank Sinatra
(makes me sick just saying it) and ALL other music of the same genre So bad it make averil look like heaven... Frank sinatra
makes me want to destroy anything that it plays on.... That is THE MOST ANNOYING s*** to ever come out of a speaker or radio transmitter. ALL of todays so called "TOP-40" makes me cringe... TOP-40... HAHAHAHA what a joke! should be the "TRASH-40"
LOL
90's Alt. rock is the best... lots of good stuff there, 80's rap was really good, MC hammer sucked, and vanilla ice, dont even get me started, only thing "Ice ice baby" is good for is testing subwoofer excursion, then blowing it up to put it out of its misery for playing that trash to begin with.
The 60's and 70's had some of the best music ever IMO, yes Im a hippie, may not be an old hippie, but I live by hippie standards. NO I DONT LIKE DISCO! Disco make me cringe.. YMCA comes to mind
kill me now as its playing on the d@mn radio as im typing!
Not to mention cars with so much loud obnoxios DISTORTED bass that youd think the subwoofers were actually propelling the car down the road... I like my bass, but not distorted, and not so much there is no midrange or treble. Sometimes i actually hear some good music on those stereos, but its distorted and ruined by too much bass boost. All I ever needed was a 8" sub and 50 watts.... not 20Kw and 50 18" monsters and not to mention, broken windows. I like my sound as true to the original as possible.
enough ranting for now... I just can beleve how music has gone to the sewer so bad in just 10 years! wow.. it blows my mind. Thanks American Idol for ruining something that was once good.
there is some good new music out there, its just not easy to find, and not played on any mainstream radio stations.
