Something better than the LM4562?

I want to change LM4562.
In a dac. Propose.
I am beginning to think that some people who find their equipment imperfect experiment with opamps ( and cables) because that is the easiest and less expensive component to change. However if said system already has a well-regarded amplifier, maybe one should break open the piggy bank and get some "better speakers" which will be good enough for a year or two.

All lm4562 have problems with emi...just put your smartphone next to a circuit with lm4562...
So don't do that.

I use an LC EMI/RFI filter at the input of all my amps. I have never had issues with cellphones, wifi, or the like once the amp is in a metal enclosure and it's pretty rare that I have issues even whet the circuits sits 'naked' on the lab bench. But then again I don't stack my phone on top of the circuit while I measure it. I have common sense... 😉

Have there been any new ones in the last 5 years? Is it a dead zone?
Have you followed TI much? They've launched several opamps within the past few years. Some are mentioned in this thread.

Whether an opamp will perform better or worse than the LM4562 in a particular application depends on the application. Depending on the application, the OPA1642 could be better. Or the OPA1612 could be better.

Thanks. Maybe i shall try both.
AD797 what do you say about that?

AD797 is a single, LM4562 is a dual. Not a direct swap, you’d need an adaptor of some kind.

I have a soft spot for the LM833 and NJM2068, you may want to include them on your list of things to try.

I am sorry if I disturbed you.
You didn't...it's just a principled discussion. My fingers don't rest on the Report button unlike other's...
But I asked a very simple question which you wouldn't answer. What is the role of the op-amp you wanna roll. For I/V some are better than others same with buffers and low pass filters...I get that you don't know...I said once to somebody else asking a similar question to follow RME Adi2 or Babyface soundcard as an example cause that's an expensive proffessional soundcard for musicians and you can't go wrong with it. If those who make the music like it you should like it too.
Imagine one day that an asteroid hits the anual diy world Convention and everybody knowing audio electronics die and all the audio equipment are blown by the explosion in your backyard. The blast also wipes out democracy from the face of the Earth and Kim Jong Un asks you for his 50th anniversary to choose him the best audio system to kill his boredom as all his army fanfare was also destroyed.
What are you going to choose for a dac?You know what happens if you choose the wrong dac 🙂

😆😜😉
RME ADI2.
To expensive for me. 🤔

Opamp rolling is a fundamentally flawed concept. Why do you think so many different opamps exist? They all occupy some point on a chart of input current, offsets, bandwidth, slew rate, output current, THD and a bunch of other stuff. And price, don't forget that! Any given circuit will need some combination of parameters to perform at its best. Without knowing what the exact circuit it, it's tough to know what to use. "Good for audio" doesn't tell you anything useful. "Bad in this circuit" doesn't predict performance in all circuits. Worse, stability requirements vary and just dropping some randomly chosen opamp into a circuit is risky without looking at the layout and bypassing. 4562 is pretty darn good, applied correctly in the right circuit. OTOH, a poor choice in the wrong circuit. Driving a DAC can be a bit specialized and that does narrow the range a bit, but you still have to look at the exact circuit to make a decent choice.

Is it wrong to try?

ADA4989-2 on an adapter board operated flawlessly in our double blind tests. It was all harmless fun, to perform listening tests and ask: do any of these opamps sound different, do any of these opamps sound better, which one(s) are the most enjoyable, etc. Nobody was trying to sell anything or win any arguments or tell anyone else "you are biased, misguided, and deluded!" Just listening and reacting and enjoying.

As Nelson Pass says: remember this is entertainment. If opamp rolling entertains you, what is "wrong" with that?
