Hi ,
I'am searching for a good full range box design for PA use .
About 200 W ...... i intend to use it as a back speaker ( satellite )
Someone know such a speaker ?
Thank's !!!!

Hmm...
What about the plan of a 12 inch or 10 inch scoop speaker ??
it's not fullrange but i think it's a good design ..

Hey Yourself!
Honestly, the cabinet design from a PA Fullrange Speaker,
is not different from the average Home Floor Standing
Speaker.
What makes them different is the components inside.
PA Speakers need to be efficent period. They need to
handle lots of power for numerous amount of power.
The cabinets are generally made using marine plywood,
or baltic birch.

Yes , i know .. but .. i don't have a schematic to start ... or somethink ... i'am thinking at a W horn ...
Dude,
You said " Someone know a good fullrange PA design ?"
While have W bins myself, I wouldn't recomend anyone
building one. There are tons of better designs out there.
I got my W's for free, so, I'll I needed to do is find the
right woofer for the box, and, play.
The Lab Sub would be the best Do It Yourself design to
build.
Gotta keep in mind W Bins are from the Western Electric
Era.

You can get the Lab Sub Buleprints here.

I don't have the money to build that .... and it's too big ..
I wanted somethink smaller ... i don't know ... only one speaker ,
what about a scoop horn ???
Thank's !

The Scoop will give a relative response as the W Bin.
It offers the advantage using a rearloaded horn (Rear
wave) and, the woofer, as a direct radiator (Front wave)
The W Bin uses the Front wave of the woofer in a horn
and, keeps the rear wave enclosed (Although there are
some designs that incorporate a tuned reflex, instead of
a sealed chamber)
The W Bin Throws further than the Scoop, but, the Scoop
offers a smother response.
Either box you choose will not sound good if you are not
using a minimum of 4 enclosures propergating at the
same time. (We are talking PA here!)
You can build a single Double Fifteen box, that will out do
both the Scoop, and, W Bin in a one for one shootout.

The Lab Sub, Bassmaxx, Servodrive Basstech 7, are the
only subs, Opps! let me reprhase that.......... The Only
Hornloaded Subs that can be used singular and go down
to 30 Hz.
Any other horn loaded bass bin W Bin, Scoop, Half
folded, or Cerwin Vega's 36 Series, will only be able to
go down to 60 - and maybe 55 Hz using one box.
There is an exception to the W Bin that is 48 inches
deep, but, that's the same size as the Lab, Bassmaxx,
and, Servo Sub.
Bass horns are designed to be used in groups to
create one large horn.
If you don't have the space, the time, the money,
and, patience to build a horn loaded bass system
the right way, you are better of building one or two
Double 15's (Or 18's) enclosures.
That's basically the truth, and, nothing else but the
truth.

Yup .. i know ...
I don't want a sub that go to 30 Hz .. i want somethink for kick ..
i think the W bin or the scoop can give a firm kick ..
also .. look on www.speakerplans.com .. some interesting design's there ...

Rog is a Good Friend of mine! As a matter of fact,
Rog was the first person to really explain to me, how bass
horns and the right woofer (TS Parameters) works hand
and hand. A next man I have to credit to is Weoggo Reed,
Ihoan (Designer of Bassmaxx) and, Bill Fitz _ _ _ _ ?
I've been friends with Rog before he put up that site.
If you look closely, most of those boxes are designed with
Precision Devices Speakers in mind.
If you have access to those speakers, build the PD 1850
Horn!
I can't imagine why you need to build one bass horn, but,
you seemed determined, so the most I can tell you is to
give it a shot!
If it doesn't give you the sound you want, just build another
one.

Hmm.. you have interesting friend's ...
I don't really have access to those speaker's ... but i can search and maybe find one , but , if i use other speaker ? 15 " one ?
senon PA1270 i guess .. i can get it for free .. what the result's will be ?

To be honest,
I've never heard of that speaker before, and, have no clue
what the TS Parameters are.
If you're going to build a 15 horn, maybe you should try
the HD 15. Providing that free speaker meets the horns
requirements
If its a unknown driver, (No TS Parameters) the only thing
I can recomend is throwing it in a sealed box.
I Just want to say one thing........ If you are under budget
constraints, maybe you should hold off on building a bass
horn.
Buiding bass horns are not exactly a walk in the park
(So to speak) You will spend alot of time, and
money on this project.

Magnet weight: 850oz
Voice Coil: 2.5"
Max.Power: 350W
Frequency Response: 30-3.5KHz
Sensitivity(1W/1M): 93dB
This is what i know about this driver ...
I don't know .. HD15 look very fine to me .. and not very expensive ..
Do you think that i should build that ?

Hmm ... i know that the box of a speaker is the most important .. that's way i want to make it good ..
What about this Ts ?? What is that ?
The HD1850 with that driver could sound like crap , what about the HD15 ?
I have experience in building cabinet's .. but i don't have in design ...
I don't want such a low freq. bin .. just one with a firm kick ... i inted to use it in live application in romania ( over 100 people ) outside .. so .. what do you think is the best ... i all ready have 2 bin's ( 4 driver's ) multirange .. and 2 bass tube's ( like the car one's ) and i can't get the sound i want .. not enoth bass/mid i guess ... and not enoth power ...
Thank's !!!!!!!

Dude, don't take this the wrong way...................
If you are not going to invest in the right tools
to get the job done right, you should just scrap the idea.
Either build the HD 15, or PD 1850 with the speakers
Rog recomended on the site, or don't build it at all. As
far as I remember, he offered alternative speakers that
will work in either cabinet. They may not be as efficent
as the Precision Devices, but they will get the job done.
You mean to tell me you can't buy any one of the
alternative speakers he recomended?
The speaker you want to use will not do the job in
those boxes. You'll end up wasting your time and
money, and be highly upset in the long run. Buy the
right speakers, or use those "Free Speakers" and build
a Double Fifteen box.
Period.
Again, don't take this the wrong way. I'm just being
to the point about things.
Remember,
There Are No Shortcuts In Audio.
Oh!
The TS Parameters are tools that helps you determine
what kind of box the speaker will give an optimum
response.
For example; Fs, Re, Qes, Qms, Qts, Xmax, and so forth.
Beside each one of those abriviations, should be numbers.
Surely, you used a speaker design program when you
built those other speakers right?
Best Regards,

About the tool's .. i have all the tool's you can imagine ... from a driller to osciloscoope's , about the wood .. i get it for free ....
Yes , someone calculate my last speaker , they have about 104 dB and 36 Hz . As my amp's .. most of them are build by me .. for the horn's ( if i gonna build them ) i'll use a 2 x 800 W , useing 24 output transistor's ...
If i gonna find the right driver's i think i'll build the HD15 .. it's smaller ...
What speaker software do you recomand me ?

Hmm...
What about that box with 2 driver's ( 15" ) that you mention ?
It's a simple cabinet design ?
If i gonna put an Eminence Kappa 15LF in the PD1850 horn will sound good ? He dosn't mention alternative drivers... ( name's .. only some specs about the driver i should use )
From a PD15 Horn with Eminence Kappa 15LF and a W bin with the same driver what you will chose ? I'am telling you that because in this morning i visit a friend that haved 4 x Wbin's and it sound great .. all the room shakeing ... he gave me the plan .. it's a ordinary plan from the net .......
