Hi man
I’m new in the forum and I want to build a 150” diy projector ;searching on the web …. e.bay , I found that the price for a 640 x480 lcd panel is about 100-150$ I want to know if I can get good result with this kind of panel or I need an 800x600…….?
I want to know what lens I have to buy
I foud this:
The DeltaIV 80mm Projection Lens Triplet $34.99 on http://people.eecs.ku.edu/~astaples/projector/parts.htm

and the fujinon tv lens on http://www.surplusshed.com/

are those good or I have to take other one? Are there places that sell them cheaper?
How far I have to put the projector from the screen to have a 150” diagonal image? It is better have a concave screen-panel or a flat one???
Last question and I’ll no longer bother you ….. I live in Italy and the shipping cost with UPS are about 90$ do you know if there is a cheap way for shipping?
Thanks to all
P.S. sorry for my awful english!!!!

:goodbad:

Shipping will be expensive any way Fed ex ups etc, 640x480 is a good resolution you will be pleased with it , It will be as good as a Older projection " big screen TV" Just keep looking on ebay for projection panel and you can find some preaty good deals, I bought a telex without a power supply and made one and now I have a nice panel. Hummmm the easiest way to do it is to just slap it atop a Overhead projector. Other then that Im not verry educated on the subject, though I willk be tinkering sometime this summer. Hope this helped some. Have fun

Thanks for your post
You said that is possible to build a power supply
but from the picture on ebay I have seen a strange input on the panel
so how can I make one???
and for the shipping how much is the standard air mail??
bye
Matteo

I dunno how Much shipping world be on something like that, I recently Inquired on selling My telex m2x panel and shipping to australia from USA was 160.00. what kind of panel are you looking at, we need to know that first before we can say how to make a power supply for it or if it can even be done.
