Heya guys. Im thinking of selling my DIY setup and grabbing an X1. I have always told myself that I would get an X1 when I could afford it and I have finally saved enough to grab one. In all honesty my DIY setup is great, but its time for me to splurge on an X1.
The components:
Sharp QA-1200 LCD Panel
Fantastic condition. Hardly a scratch and I dismantled it to clean out every spec of dust. In perfect working condition. 150:1 contrast ratio which is extremely high for a panel.
Dukane 4003 4000 Lumen Portable OHP
Very good condition. There are a few numbers marked on it and a a few very miniscule signs of wear. This thing is BRIGHT and has a switch for extra brightness. (for projection panels) Just purchased a bulb and will include it. (5 hours have been put on it.)
Ive decided that Im also going to include a newly purchased Jasco/GE VGA converter. Ran me about $85. It converts nearly everything into VGA. Has Svideo/Composite/Cable/and 2 audio inputs. This allows me to connect my Gamcube, DVD Player, VCR, whatever to the panel without having to drag the computer out. My fav feature though is the ability to watch cable tv on my projector. It even has a brightness/contrast/saturation/etc adjuster and a very nice remote control.
Here are some images of the setup:
Thats my roomate. 😉
What do you guys think Id be able to get for the entire setup? And do you think I should sell it together, or as individual parts?
Thanks everyone!

An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.

beside but still within range...
Let us know how the Infocus works..
I saw a demo at BestBuy (after bugging the salesguy for 15 minutes) and I was thoroughly discouraged... as was everybody around me..
the (Youngest) salesperson (i've ever seen) told me that it was due to the light
although in the speaker room it was quite dark...
to me it was a worthless piece of s...t priced at $990.00 plus an extra warranty price tag of about $76.00
Just let us know what your opinion is. Maybe the set up was not properly done or so....

I bought a XGA DLP 2000 lumen Infocus lp530 and to put it bluntly it sucked. I sold it for what I paid for it though $1600.
Web pages looked pretty good, but I am not impressed with the "chunkiness" of DLP even @ 1024 x 768. Video looks very grainy, regular NTSC television is almost unwatchable, even when running through a line doubler... glad to get rid of it, my Zenith IQB64W10W is WAY better.
