I am trying to refurb HK 330c receiver from the 70's, and while I've been into stereo gear since the 70's, I've never done any repair / refurb before, so had some hopefully simple questions.
1) How do I avoid getting shocked? I know that even after being unplugged, some components will hold a charge. Should I always wait 24 hours (or some timespan) after unplugging before opening up the case?
2) I know cleaning the pots is a pretty common thing to do in a refurb. Are they actually removed and disassembled, or do you just spray contact cleaner as best you can into them? I have some CAIG deoxit and Cailube to use for this.
3) There are a couple of lights that need replacing. It's easy enough to remove them, but where do you get replacements?
4) What grease should be used for any internal moving parts (in the HK, the tuner uses a string and gear mechanism to move the tuner, and I have CD player that need some lube on its magazine mechanism). Plain white lithium grease?
Thanks for any help you could provide.

Here are my suggestions. Out of the many amps and receivers I have repaired, the caps rarely hold more than a few volts very long after they are unplugged. I used an extension tube on the end of cleaner/lube and pressed it up against a hole in the casing of potentiometers. You can even turn them as you spray. For the lights where you are I would suggest MCM Electronics or Parts Express, both of which are located near Dayton, Oh, I think. I never worried about greasing tuner parts as they are not used constantly so should not wear much.
