Ok I'm new here and I've done a lot of searching but really I need a direct reply. Thx to all who post.
1. What do I want?:
-To project a size of 60" wide
-7.5 feet from projector to wall
-Projected on silver paint
-Must have a small height
-Preferably light
-I do not wish to open up a lcd projector
-No OHP
-1024*768
2. The projector will most likely be placed in a box and hung from my steel bed. I wish to have a small height but not to bothered about depth or width. Maybe I could use a small lcd (7") that faces down and a light beside it.
3. Needs VGA, S-Video inputs minimum.
4. Long lasting and not expensive bulbs.
5. Basicly I need to know whats the ideal small design that isnt to high and which parts are placed where (distance form lcd to lens etc).
Thankyou again in advance

🙂 Your asking for too much.
#1 If you dont wanna open up an LCD monitor your not going to get XGA resolution. A 7" LCD isnt going to give you the results your expecting.
#2 Your not going to find a triplet lens with the focal length your looking for. There are many people on the boards working on zoom lenses at the moment... but none of them are ready just yet.
#3 You can make it small... but you'll need first surface mirrors. (I use them and cant be happier) Only problem is most people on the board think they're too expensive. I on the other hand think they're worth every penny.
#4 There are many bulbs out there that you can use. You have to search a little more for that answer... as there are just TOO MANY choices to list here.
#5 There is no such thing as a small ideal design. Everythings give and take.

Ok I understand what I'm asking for is too much.
So I would like to just ask in a non-OHP situation:
what is a good size lens?---Providing not
what is a good size lcd?-----extremely expensive
--for a roughly 50-70 width screen?
Thx a lot then I can use that projector worksheet to find out distance etc

Hi, I do not mean to sound rude, but, I'm a newbie as well, and what I've learned so far, is that first, SEARCH, and then post any questions you've found unanswered. There is TONS of info. here, and most things one asks, are already there, and because of that, you won't get much replies unless you have an "original" question.
Read the FAW, the Wiki, and also the main threads. Also, chech the links sections, and go to sites like http://www.hommie.net , http://www.gwidijanto.fcpages.com/index.htm , http://www.audiovisualizers.com/madlab/lcd_proj.htm, http://www.geocities.com/zark5150/projhow.html , and http://www.diylabs.com and see if any of your questions are there also.
