Having become somewhat of a transformer addict, I was wandering about the viability of amp based on Karna philosophy, but using jfets and SiT components. Unsure of requirements for transformers as they are a new game for me.

less is more , and you're already shown what is less
if you're going L'Art pour L'Art , read Susumi Sakuma pages
to be more precise - it's hard (and foolish) to translate literally from sand to vacuum , and the other way around

if you're eager to play with iron , look at Donuts thread

if you need more oomph , increase voltage , decrease Iq
it's , of course , possible to implement iron in input path , too

Have another clone to try first. Was trying to stay with small signal transformer types. I assume that it is the current levels that make SS and Iron a tough mix.
principle is what counts .... and changes needed to accommodate differences in part's nature
if you have highish current (as with sand) , then use CT choke , as in Donut (nothing new , btw)
as Papa show us with M2 - colorations from iron can be used for benefit and it adds some tasty syrup to benign and neutral character of used OS
so , if you are willing to explore that further , use iron in front of output stage , same as part of OS itself
what I meant in my first comment - if going sand route ,generally you'll need less stages than with vacuum ........ while speaking of Donuts - I'm just saying that choke is better for your/our needs than plain OPT ....... using what inductive storage can give you , but without relying on core itself to transfer every eenyweeny bit from primary to secondary

Gotcha. Was alwyas thinking two stage. Got some j109's, SS, SiT's. I will queue it up after M2. You are ironman, so ill head your advice. Stajo has not updated the Donut thread. I know he has the stuff, but apparently life is more interesting at the moment.
very true. guess i need to decide between this and 5/6 filar SiT version. THanks for the help. Ill update in time.
with 6-fillar , you can be closer to original F6 arrangement , feedback wise
do you have L meter ?
I'm interested - what's L of one Jensen's coil
maybe one day I go blind ....... and wind some 6-fillar in/on ferrite cups (they're sort of non-ct 600:600 repeaters also )

Due not have L meter. The 5 filar was Cinemag. Gonna try to get BudP to make 6 filar. Ill use 5 filar with the SiT's. Its hard to imagine it besting the Funny, but i am very interested, as it does haev the potential. Funny is just such a msucial amp. Trick of the mind, perhaps, but still wonderful. I am hoping the M2 clone is similar in nature.
not really
but , as I said , my question is not important enough , that you must go and buy one
I can always ask Papa , and he's certainly having L meter somewhere
I repeat - I simply forgot that Iskra repeater is also good for reference

well ,Mighty ZM, as typical brainless Dodo , have one - old Russian black box with plenty of switches and LED display
still didn't figured for how many different measurement is made
