soldering flush components on a 2 layer toner transfer board

How do I solder a cap or any flush mounted component which has tracks on both sides, or connects to planes. This is on a toner transfer 2 layer pcb, so there is no plated hole. I could raise the component a bit to solder both sides, but i would like to avoid that if i can. Is it possible.

I'm not sure what you mean by raising the component to solder both sides, but I'll offer two suggestions. First, you could get some "wire wrap" wire, and use it to bridge between your VIA holes. Once stripped, wire wrap wire is so thin, it usually can be coaxed through even tiny vias. Another thing you might consider, PCBWAY.COM has now made it so cheap to have professional boards made, it might make you reconsider home done boards. I still cut and etch my own toner based (I use PNP blue) boards in an emergency, but after seeing how reasonable it has become to get them made, you too might want to go this route. A simple single sided board is one thing, but anywhere plated through holes would benefit the project, its hard to justify that hassle.
