The Diyaudio store has a soft-start pcb, Mr Pass shows only the CL60's in his schematic's can anyone give their options on using either ? Which is better and why ? Or are both needed when constructing a F4 or F5 type amp ? Thank-you !

Like Audiosan I prefer a soft start.I've been using one of these for some years.Not the cheapest but works well.

I think that soft start is better then NTC, because CL-60 wont be in his strength, unless he cools off, short time on/of/on
best thing is bstrd of these two
soft start circuit with NTCs instead of fixed resistors
do not forget that soft start must be optimized for each particular case , to avoid abrupt currents when switching relay ON

CL60 is the most simple and time tested. I usually connect a CL60 to it's own DPDT swtich, turn amp on, wait 3 seconds, then turn off the CL60. Just don't forget to 'enable' CL60 prior to next power up.
well. that is exactly what a simple softstart will do. and you don't need te remember to do all that manualy. so i will say that a simple softstart with CL-60's insted of fixed resistors are the easy way.
I've used the Pass CL60 design and have no problems. Why make things more complicated?
