Soft start circuits employing Inrush Current Limiters (high power NTC thermistors) also work directly off the Mains supply.

this can be a Nice softstart, With some mods. desolder the 4 NTC's and solder all NTC's in series. f.ex 2 CL-60's in series(only use the 2 inner) it also comes with temp protection.
