So this showed up on my Facebook page.. Any opinions?

Pretty much everything advertised on FB is trash, but who knows, there might be a diamond in the rough.

I usually just scroll through and don't pay attention.

That driver has to have the flattest FR ever for a full range driver, which sounds fishy to me.
No rising FR, no hump or break up, and of course, no dispersion measurements either.

Hey, if someone wants to test this at that price, I would surely love to see the results in the real world! 😀

I agree the graph is too smooth for a FR driver. The tiny dip just over 5kHz look to me like a cross-over point. I suspect the measurement are real, but taken from a 2-way speaker. They're not the first company to fudge graphs though. Unfortunately many of them do it and have for years.

Hi,

the DAVIS 8-inch fullrange has been around for some time. As all large fullrange drivers, it´s not perfect. Monsieur Visain has made some pretty uncommon design decisions and his drivers differ from most others in the class, but I´m not judging whether this is good or bad...
There has been an extensive test of the drivers in the German "Hobby Hifi" magazine, but I´m not sure if I´m allowed to simply post it here - depends on copyright.
Somewhere I´ve read some nice comments of the ready-made DAVIS box, but forgot where... sorry.
The relatively high price comes from small numbers of fabrication and is in good company with other french, german and polish fullrange drivers. Pricewise, drivers like these will never be able to rival asian mass production units.

All the best
