I bought 3 of these: http://www.bgmicro.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=12293
I plugged them into one of my TA-10s. Immediately a high pitched whine came out.
I tried all 3 of them on two different TA-10s. Same result.
Be warned, YMMV.

Well that's bad news! Hope there was no damage.
I've bought a lot of power supplies from BG-Micro and never had a problem. Have even bought the Hi-Pro brand with no troubles.
Are you able to check voltage and polarity?
If they don't work, you should certainly send them back. Sorry to have misguided you.

I also bought the same for use with my sonic impact. Couldn't use it since it does not come with the AC cord (no cord from wall socket to the DC!!). I will have to unhook my computer connection and see if it fits. Hope it works with my t-amp.

I have this same SMPS and use it with a Charlize.Never had a problem. How close do you have the PS to the amp? Could it be a RF problem???🙂
www.halted.com had a few different power supplies that might work for you--can't guarantee quality though!

Skynet USA is willing to sell single power supplies, and the prices are very reasonable.

Tried varying distances, had no effect.
Preiter-try putting an electrolytic cap(any size should do,the bigger the better) across the output of the supply. If it's the supply, that should fix the problem.
Sorry,I don't have any experience with the Trends amp, just the Charlize with this supply.
Good luck,Steve🙂

Re: Re: So, I bought the SMPS from BG Micro
I tried the SMPS from BG Micro. Had the same problem. High pitched sound. You can here the music mostly, but the whine comes through very obviously on quieter sections.
I tried different AC outlets, moving the brick around while listening, and unplugging the stock TA-10 power supply. Nothing affected it.

I would send the PSU back! No other SMPS I've gotten from BG Micro has had this problem. I have not tried this unit, tho.
Bought another power supply from BG Micro:

This one is much better, I'm using it to drive 2 TA-10s in an actively crossed tri-amp system. It sounds lovely.
I "repurposed" the cords from the bum supplies to go with this amp.
An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.
