I will bring 2 new tubes here in UK if I will manage to visit Slovenija in December. For Mooly. A Christmast gift....and 2 noval sockets as well....Nice warm winter project.

.....The semiconductor one does not come "alive" till you crank it up to something like 5-10 watts. The tube class A amp is crisp and detailed at small volumes so i don't feel a need to crank it up to more than 0.25-1 watt, 3 watt max volume on it sounds loud and unnecessary.

I wonder if or how he knows each amp is delivering that power. A 3W amplifier delivering 3W to the speaker will be clipping on half the music signals being processed. No wonder the ear/brain is telling you it is loud (=overloaded) !
