SMPS repair

Working on a satellite receiver that won't power on. Only suspicious looking part of board is in PS section. Attached picture; does discolouration look like a failure or just heat discolouration?

Liquid damage and that cap looks cracked. Last SMPS I saw with a cracked ceramic cap was due to rain causing a short circuit. That mosfet looks like it's got a cracked case too (top corner) but it may be the picture..

Probably the easiest thing to check are:
PCB fuses - simply continuity test
Ceramic caps / NTC these tend to fail catastrophically - cracking or blowing off with scorching.
Inductor/transformers - are these showing a resistance? Look at the PCB traces around the the pins for scorching or discolouration.
Does the IC look damaged or marred in anyway? You could simply give current limited Vcc to the power pin and check if it starts with an oscilloscope assuming you can identify the chip.
Diodes - are they still performing correctly?
MOSFET.. probably easy to check the drain to source if it's closed on zero-gate by design.

Likelyhood if the transformer is toast is that you won't find a replacement easily and they can be bespoke. You could re-wind your own 😀 It's probably cheaper to rip it out and replace the whole PSU.
