Does this apply only to the onboard filtering on an SMPS, or does this also have an impact on an external EMI filter that may be present on a power entry module?

I'm planning on using a PEM with a built-in EMI filter, that will feed power to a Connex SMPS800RS. Anything you think I should worry about?

EMC looks at noise on the mains going into the device so a pre filter would also affect the conducted emissions.

I know with the Murata DC-DC converters you need to filter both the incoming and outgoing.
