hi,
i am new to this forum,
i like to make some amplifier for my car
i looked over internet, but i did not find something really interesting
if somebody have a good schematics with description, plese send me,,,
i find few schematics of smps, but there is no description how to make a transformer..
please help<<<thanks

Hello:
I am also new in the forum and I am interested in building a plant of audio for the car.
It interests me mainly the construction of the source of power (SMPS) of the following ones characteristic:
Vin: 10V – 14V
Vout: +/- 50V
Iout: 8Amp.
Please to specify like I build the transformer and some formulate mathematics for posteriors designs.
Thank you for their collaboration..
He/she notices: The file PDF that you relate: “high_power_car_stereo_amp.pdf” it doesn't work, it cannot open up.

This is for you and try it
The file is damaged and connot be repaired.
Hey, I've also had the same problem.
There are a couple good schematics on diyAudio if you search. The one I planned to use was the one with the SG3525.
For the transformer, I bought a couple 2 inch toroidal ferrite cores off ebay for a nice price. I watched and waited until I found something I thought was the right price and size. Then I think I'll use some magnet wire from radio shack to wind it.
I am still trying to understand it all before I put it together though. The SG3525 chip is confusing to me, a lot of new terminology.
Anyway, back to what you asked, do you not understand transformer winding, inductance, number of winds, what?

Specifically the question is:
Depending the output voltage, how many turns should wind that gauges of wire I should use, for the primary one and the secondary ones.
That area should have the toroidal ferrite cores.
Some should exist it formulates mathematics that can serve he/she stops several designs with different voltages.

You need to know the flux density (beta) that the core can sustain. Then you can work out the primary turns. The secondary turns is just the voltage ratio you desire plus an extra turn or so to compensate for losses. I have the formula at home and can look it up, but it's useless if you don't have a value for beta.
If you don't know beta all you can do is build the whole thing then experiment with number of primary turns whilst monitoring primary current.
