Smoke came from TPA3116

Hi everyone

Please help me in ways to fix this problem with the tpa3116

I connected wrong terminals and saw some smoke coming out of the tpa3116 amp then i immediately pulled the wire out of the amp.

After connecting the correct wires it's now turning on but with these problems.

The subwoofer is giving very low sound.
When i connect more than 12v to the amp it disconnects the Bluetooth connection and sound start to break

Otherwise with 12v the two channels left and right are giving clear sound but very less sound to subwoofer channel.

Is there a way to fix this now.
Please check the attached pics aswell..

TIA🙏🙏

I connected wrong dc12v wires..

I was using inside this in car and i tried connecting
the dc12v wires.. i guess it was like i connected positive too negative terminals and there was smoke coming out and immediately pulled the plug out..

Smoke comes out AFTER some damage is done so in general pulling cable by hand is too late.

Maybe you can repair it by replacing TPA3116 but not certain, other parts very probably damaged and how could you tell which is which?

Sadly I look at that board and see "disposable" written all over it.

In these robot built products, repairing (Human time and brains) is way more expensive than replacing (machine time and brain)

I guess have to buy a new one.. Is the TPA3255 much better in sound than this one.. I was thinking of buying that now..

Hi! it 's frustrating to lose a card, personally I have lost a lot ... it shapes the experience but I have always changed for the better.
It is in the errors that we learn ... about the tpa3255, there are lot to something to read on the forum ... Happy reading! :yinyang:

I believe that it makes no sense to repair a device that costs a pack of cigarettes, you have already been given a similar answer.
And don't be so serious, new year is coming soon, new opportunities!

drmordor was there any use or benefit of your reply..

It's better to not to reply if you can't help anyone..
Dear digitaled, the "magic smoke" reference is a VERY common frustrated answer to damage in the Electronics World (including Audio), nothing personal nor specially invented for you.
Stay around a little and you´ll hear it many times 🙂
Or I´d better say 🙁

For golden ears the difference between 0.01 and 0.001% THD makes a ten-fold better sounding amp - despite the fact that human hearing capabilties are well known for decades. For people with both feet on earth the TPA3116 and TPA3255 sound the same - except a bit more hiss output from TPA3116. If you were happy with TPA3116 the "upgrade" would not improve your sound.😉
