Researching possibilities for a small form projector, I noticed that the 7in Lilliput XGA panels that everyone seems to be using is actually WVGA. I currently use an XGA panel, which replaced a VGA panel. Because of my viewing distance, the screendoor effect was very noticeable with the VGA panel, so 800x480 would look just as bad as 640x480 did (I assume).
Judging from everyone's screenshots, the results are fine, but a long while ago when I posted some of my results, the results looked fine too as the imperfections weren't easily seen in the pictures.
Anyways, long story short. Does anyone know what the smallest XGA native panel is?

Sorry for not answering your question, but I am interested to hear more about your current XGA set up.
What size is your current XGA panel?
Your viewing distance?
Image size?
Projection distance?
How noticable is the screendoor?
I am trying to decide between a 7" lilliput or a 15" Benq.

I currently use an LCD Projector Panel. It's a Proxima Ovation 944+. I believe it's 10.4in diagonal. Screendoor isn't too noticable from 3 feet away from the screen, which is projected at a little less than the 70x70 screen size (there simply isn't enough room to move back). The distance from the projector to the screen is about 5 feet.
For the price, I'd go with a Benq 15in, simply because it's natively XGA. The lilliput is WVGA for roughly the same price.
