Smaller Component PCB Hole Diameter

I expect that the hole diameter for resistors up to 1/2W, and most caps with wire leads are pretty much a standard spec. I'm looking to get sockets for a few locations with larger diameter solder tails than the sockets I have been using, so getting an actual diameter used in recent Diyaudio Store PCBs would be help.

Thanks, Skip

If you are thinking of the machined pins like the Adam Tech sockets, rsavas is correct, still the same size. Just looked and their spec calls for 35mil holes. I tend to use 38 mil generically which makes things a bit easier if you need to take something out. Just did a board and the 38's had plenty of space. I also have some old TI sockets and I am pretty sure those have a thinner lead, but the 38 hole still works fine.

Thanks to both of you. I found some socket pins with 30mil tails that should do the job. I already had used some with 20mil tails, but I have had fits making them stand up straight. Tape, drilled pieces of wood . . . just too much slop, and probably too much heat. Just started using a better iron with a smaller tip. so the 50% fatter tails should really help.
