Hi
Is there any kind soul in the UK who could match a few BC / 2N type transistors for me, mainly for LTP positions in amps.
I will obviously provide the transistors and a payment for the trouble.
Many thanks

I have a home made transistor tester that I built over 30 years ago for that very job working with parts from those big bags of surplus components that used to be sold by those nice old electronics shops that are no longer there.
It measures at several currant settings so that you can make the points for a paper graph.

i shall pm you.
does anyone have experience with the Peak Atlas DCA55 component tester, if it works accurately?
I might shell out for a curve tracer kit but not sure how much use I will get out of it.

This is the transistor tester I built over 30 years ago for this kind of job.
The two red markings are where the NPN/PNP switch goes.
It uses a switchable collector currant and you have to calculate the HFEs.
It is a teenage build poor mans curve tracer all be it fiddly to use but where the hell could you get an affordable curve tracer from in the 1970s.

I have it. I honestly don't know how accurate it is, but it is fast and easy to use and doesn't cost a whole lot so I love mine 😀 I suspect that for DIY use it is all you really need.
