I need (physically) small input transformer 10k:10k for a Pultec EQP-1A gain stage. I have used Jensen and Sowter 8920 that both sound excellent, but big.
The Lundhal LL1531 I could not get to sound great, just harsh and too much distortion. Set the Zobel for good square-wave response but tossed them in the parts bin. The core is sugar-cube sized, and I'm not sure if this compromises things.
The Sowter 8920: 0.05% at +20dBu 50 Hz
Lundahl LL1531 +10dBU primary level, 50 Hz: 0.2 %
Tried Edcor PC series but not bifilar wound and so imbalanced, and M6 not Mu Metal... that was a mistake.
Any suggestions for a smaller (PCB mount) transformer?
