SLA Questions

I'm trying to design an enclosure for a modified t-amp using an SLA battery for power. Can SLA's be oriented in any way, on their sides, etc. Is there a Correlation between Ah and how long the amp will play? What's the rule of thumb?
Thanks

Wally:

Ah = amps x hrs.

Current draw determines how long the battery will supply a charge to a load. If a battery is rated at 25Ah then it will supply an RMS current of one amp for 25 hrs., simple math. Of course you'd need to know how much current you're drawing to figure out how long the battery will last. This also assumes that the battery is in good condition. They do deteriorate over time and use.
