Had a search but could not find anything so here goes -

Technics SL1210 Mk2:

Does anyone know a direct replacement for the pitch slider that is a rotary pot with centre detent?

Or anyone know what the resistance curve for the slider is so i can look for a rotary alternative (looks like a 0-22K Ohm but is it lin, log or a special) ?

Also, If I were to find a rotary replacement pot then would this affect the centre position quartz lock (i.e. how is the centre position picked up by the deck to kick in the lock circuit )?

Thanks in advance.

Thanks Jon.

I thought the PTT version looked like it had a centre switch output on it? PTV ones don’t.

Edit - just noticed the link seems to be broken, here is the Oem one, diagram bottom left of the first page.

Looking for a rotary as I am investigating a project to “repackage” the guts of a broken 1210. If this project gets off the ground I will set up a thread on here.

So, an additional questions as my search for a rotary replacement for the slider has not turned up anything.

The question is - if I replace the pot part of the slider with a rotary pot with centre detent (20k lin) and then add a manual switch to turn on the pitch lock, what would happen if I turn on the pitch lock on when the pot is not at the centre position (or leave it switched on all of the time) ?
