l'amp is the closest thing we can DIY.
Well, sort of, but there is another option.

Are these offered in DIY form? PCB or a kit. Thanks
Not enough SIT-1 parts to support DIY.

I do not follow this tread, but I'm always interested in this amp. Has anyone actually completed this amp?

With Mr Pass you get solution to subscribe in near future
to buy new SIT-3 pcb's or kit with Sony vfet's.

Kindest regards
Now that the SIT-1/2 is apparently out of production (at least according to Reno-discontinued)
I thought only SIT-2 would be discontinued for SIT-3 introduction.
Now that the SIT-1/2 is apparently out of production (at least
according to Reno-discontinued), will the schematic be available?
It seems to me that the schematics of these have been around for a long
time, in fact I think the owner's manual has enough detail. It's a very simple
circuit - the SIT is biased by either a CCS or some big resistors. Since you
don't have a SIT-1 transistor anyway, the exact resistor values and such
would not be very useful.
The basic circuit of the SIT-3 will accommodate other devices, and I intend
to make the circuit and the Sony VFETs available for DIY. This will be
a Common-Drain application. Those who want Common-Source should
look at projects already in this forum.
Thanks.
It seems like the essential difference between SIT-1 and SIT-3 is the presence of the transformer in the SIT-3 -- would this give more of an "M2" sound to the SIT-3 compared with SIT-1?
I was going to get a SIT-1 from Reno but Mark talked me into the J2 and it sounds so great ... but I have a stash of N100 and R085 ... so could theoretically build my own ... I guess I'd have to build a J2ish and then buy a SIT-1 ...

Is there no end to your generosity.

He is running a rescue for stray SITs. Shhh don't tell him about all the stray capacitors

The difference in sound would be two-fold, it is a Common-Drain circuit and
uses a transformer, but a different one.
