Amen Cal, I couldn't count on my fingers and toes how many times my system sounded perfectly awesome only to be let down after a few listening sessions. I can't explain it, It just happens sometimes. But to the OP if it continues to please you then more power to ya. You have reached a point the rest of us are still clamoring for.Hey veroman,
You might want to reread chrisb's post. I don't see the anger. He was saying that without hearing your system, his opine isn't 100% valuable and to be cautious, as many times what starts out great sours quickly. It happens to me all the time. Especially with speakers. Everyone here is happy that your system sounds good, that's what it's all about. Relax a little.
Cheers.
i was trying to say that i HAD finally found the sound i had been chasing. i realize the metaphsics involved, i am a follower of non dualistic thought. the duality of joy and sorrow is the manifestation that defines man as 'he' delusionally sees himself as a seperaate ego inhabiting his own body . this indeed is the animus of life. but this simple stereo playback system delivered the clarity and reality of a live performance that heretofore i never had heard. and of course the nature of man is to cast the seed of doubt. just like lasting joy is impossible as it soon wanes and we are back swinging on the pendulum.. of course tho i don t listen to loud rock nor to much very loud symponic works nor electric stuff so these would not be as great as other formats in those areas. for me they are bliss. i say , as you said, let a guy enjoy the present, why question his personal experience and add cold water to it. but that is just a folly on my part to blame or think i can change events set in destiny.Amen Cal, I couldn't count on my fingers and toes how many times my system sounded perfectly awesome only to be let down after a few listening sessions. I'm always happy with any gradual improvement in my system. Kudos to you for having found a sound that you like. That's what this is all about. And sharing it with the community. No solution ever will please everybody, but who cares...
Veroman I'm sure it sounds awesome. Enjoy it and if it pushes all your right buttons then it doesn't really matter what other people think.
Veroman, namaste back at ya! Sincere congrats. Luxuriate in it...indefinitely, if you are able. I will baldy assert that, if you think Ella sounds right, it _Is_ right 🙂
Nice thread. Thanks all. Sincerely. This board still works, somehow, through it all. Could have gone off the rails several times, but it didn't. Good stuff.

peace to you...btw, i use them as tv speakers and man do they make voices real and clear nothing like the midrange of a single driver for dialogue. a quick plug for chromecast device to watch pc netflixx on big tv...wow!

😱 i need to look into this...

veroman,
I too have the 'best' speakers for TV. I don't use the surround, just these two and I have to say, this is the system that meets my needs and probably will for a long time. This is the bedroom TV and I have been cautiously surprised by how well they do the job and now that I have listened for a number of months, I am quite certain this is what I was looking for all my life. No woofers need apply. It's an Airborne 6.5" wood cone driver in a custom designed cabinet.
On the other side of things, my music systems are continually evolving. At last count I had close to 40 pairs of speakers and it doesn't seem to be more than a month before I tinker or simply swap out this for that. I find a fault in every darn pair I have.

I think that sums it up pretty well. At that point you either go on a crusade to right the wrongs or swap it out like me. 😀funny how hard it is to hear past the flaws once we spot them.

i need to 'cut the cable' ....😀....and re work the sound on the TV...

...and you don't even use a mic or measure the response. 🙂
Nope, that would spell the death knell of my speaker hobby. I like to voice simply with my ears. My ears know what they like. 🙂
cal, wow a month ?
i use an active crossover (2-way), and i re-arange weekly. i know your pain.
i try to get rid of speakers after they leave my top 3 setups.
i want to try 4x4" in a square array (calcube), or make a nearfield listener (2' distance with foam barrier) with tc9 or fe85.

Not as young or energetic as I once was and the speakers are not stored at my place. Otherwise it would be weekly like you. 🙂
