Indeed.

Look at figure 3. Notice that the volume control is linear. The 15K resistor changes the taper. This actually works better than a cheap "audio taper" volume control. I used it in a cheap preamp circuit with cheap parts and it sure worked a whole lot better than one of those $2 volume controls.
