Nice collection, well packaged aesthetically also. Congrats.
Thank you.
Wow! That's cool Turbon. Can I ask how the motor sounds? I have lenco and have serviced motor as best I can. Still a bit noisy though.
If you want to get your Lenco motor absolutely silent, follow these instructions:

I did, and mine is better than new now, completely silent. 🙂
Decca cart flexed a bit better by now? Was stored for a while I would guess.
Yes to both.It was in a draw for close to 20 years thinking about it.The sound is opening up nicely from the lows to the highs with a very detailed mid.Having said that I think the Denon just edges it.
Thanks, yes I have done the motor lubrication but not the mother coils. Also I think a custom plinth will change things. I will keep working on the lenco but I have also just soughted a Technics 1200, which I would like to put a new arm on. So many things to do...

Thanks, it's good to know I can get things quieter, ill keep working on mine. Looking forward to new cart now.

Very silent, just the faintest swirl if I put my ear close to the platter. But then I have an aftermarket top plate (PTP5), spindle and idler wheel that probably helps 🙂. Even the wife agreed to the look of it 🙂.

Are you speaking of mechanical noise or "electrical" noise?
My LENCO motor, when running, and my cartridge (low, low output MC) hum. Not obnoxiously but it is there.
SO, I am wondering just what kind of noise you are hearing.
When you do the motor lubrication consider using the ruby ball instead of the metal one as supplied. There is a post at LENCO HEAVEN discussing the size.

IF it is a mechanical sound it's probably needing recentering of the stator.
I can't see anything else that would give mechanical sounds - if it is no ruby parts will do it better... Unless you of course center it when changing to the ruby parts. But then again - try to center the stator before buying anything. The how-toos are at LH.

Mechanical noise is vibration.
That vibration can be from many causes.
The pulsing of the 50Hz current
The roughness of the bearing
The out of balance of the rotor
Movement of loose windings
etc .....

Out of balance of the rotor (not stator - sorry for the confusion) is the obvious - the rest of the ideas are plausible but rare...

Using Z-Foil trimmers for variable cart loading...
Yes... bulk metal trimmers from Vishay.... the best IMO
The sound is mechanical, yes low resonating vibrations. Hard to describe, I will pull motor out and try aligning coils.
Turbon,
cheers. Nice tt. How do you couple/decouple it to the shelf? Sorry fo OT.
Thanks, not thought of that yet - to busy playing records

There's a lot of stuff to be done later to align it to whatever perfection in my reach.

So simple it worked! I have put up with mechanical noise for longer than I would like to admit. Aligning motor coils fixed problem in 5 mins. Now this really is a huge improvement. Quiet as a church mouse. Thanks all!

I have found a laminated 30-0-30 transformer, probably about 200VA, in a drawer from an old Onkyo integrated amp I sued to use.
In the mains socket it measures 30.95 - 0 - 30.95
Could it be used for these FSP shunts Salas? It will save me a lot of money if I can use it, plus make me feel good about recycling 🙂
