If i go with solid state rectification (required for one version of the simple PP) i loose my soft start of the b+. Also the standby switch option is not recommended anymore.

Yes, that is all you need from a soft-start perspective. In my Simple PP which does use tube rectification, I'm finding that B+ comes before the output tubes are warmed up enough anyway.
Choke is back in stock at allied. So 20 lucky people can get it before its gots OOS again for a month.
