Witnessed a few homes after fires because of wall warts, playstations, the old Wago connection blocks etc. and learnt the lesson that I don't want anything powered on when I am not there and also not when I am there at night. Except the TV and the refridgerator. Also that wire nuts may be old fashioned but practically never fail in time. Whatever (insurance) companies and people involved may tell/advise as it is 9 out of 10 times commercial advice.
Unfortunately standby power and 24/7 powered on SMPS are more rule than exception. It is even endorsed here as it would be safer. It is not. A real power switch is safer.

This is phantom power for condenser microphones, a few mA is plenty. Studio grade phantom power is 48V through 6k8Yes, referenced it in my last post. I don't know what a microphone preamp us or the typical current requirements.
