Here is the setup Ask Impact WSX with an Elmo 305SD Metal Halide projector.

I finally got a bulb for my 305sd and I was disappointed in the picture. The thing is a lot brighter than my 3M 9200 but the focus is poor. When I focused the center the top was blurry. I used the Win XP desktop to focus it and the icons at the top were completely unreadable. Using my 3M with a triplet lense the entire desktop was perfectly clear. The triplet lense on the 3M focuses by moving the distance the lense is from the panel. The varifocal on the Elmo focuses by truning a ring on the lense. I started thinking last night "Why not do both?"

I turned on the projector, focused the center of the image, and then lifted the top of the panel slowly away from the stage glass on the projector. This had the effect of bringing the top portion of the screen in focus while leaving the center in focus. Also, to my GREAT surprise, this also eliminated the keystone in the image.

I am now using 2 small wood shims to hold my Ask Impact WSX at the proper angle and the picture is PERFECT. Now I'm going to sell the QA-2500 I just bought and my 3M 9200 on eBay. The picture I have now is perfect for me and I'm not going to mess around trying to improve it!
