Simple circuit design question.

I have a pretty basic question...
I'm building a sub with 2 identical drivers that each have 2 ohm DVCs. So in effect I need to drive (4) 2 ohm voice coils. The amp I intend to use has these specs:
  • At 8 ohms: 215W RMS x2
  • At 4 ohms: 350W RMS x2
  • At 2 ohms: 550W RMS x2
  • Bridged at 8 ohms: 700W RMS
  • Bridged at 4 ohms: 1100W RMS
My question - what configuration will provide the best (highest?) power to drive this cabinet?

Hello!

Each speaker can be 1ohm (coils in parallel) or 4ohm (coils in series).
You must connect both coils.

If associating the speakers you get 1x2ohms (parallel), 1x8ohms (series).

Since you need to connect both speakers:

1) Each speaker as 4ohm each in one channel. This will give you 2x350W or 700W
2) Speakers associated in series as 8ohm (4+4) connected to the amp in bridge mode. This will give you 700W

I would go with option 1)
